amarettis are the Italian equivalent of macaroons. They can be drier or softer depending on individual preferences. They are delicious little cookies that will delight dairy intolerant people because there is no butter or milk in this original recipe.
Ingredients for 15
150 g almond powder
150 g powdered sugar
- 12 teaspoon bitter almond extract
- 12 egg white (separate the yolk from the white, put the white in a bowl and take only half or double the proportions of everything and you will have more amaretti 🙂 )
- Mix the almond powder, powdered sugar and bitter almond extract. Add the egg whites to the bowl of the food processor and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Then form walnut-sized balls and place them on a baking tray covered with baking paper.
Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes.
When the amaretti are cooked, let them cool and then sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
