Gluten-free apple lime express crumble

Last-minute guests, one of whom is on a diet. gluten-freea leftover homemade compote in the refrigerator or some apples in the fruit basket, a box of gluten-free cookies in the cupboard, hop, hop here is the crumble express. As always for crumbles, I advise you to prepare them as an individual version rather than as a family dish because it is clearly uncut.

For 4 persons :

  • 4 apples (Reinettes Canada for me)
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons of cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 8 butter palets gluten-free

Prepare the compote: Peel and seed the apples. Cut them into cubes. Put them in a frying pan with 2 tablespoons of water and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Cover and let stew for about 15 minutes. I like it when there are small pieces left.  Let cool and then add the finely grated zest of a lime. Mix.  Divide this compote between 4 ramekins.

Preheat the furnace to 200°C.

Take out 8 palets with gluten-free butter. Mix them roughly. Sprinkle the crumbs evenly between the 4 ramekins and bake for 5 minutes (grill position, to brown).

Taste warm, a delight!

If you are not very “lemony”, you can flavor your applesauce with cinnamon, vanilla, or why not a pinch of ginger or cardamom.
