There are pepper and pepper

. I don’t know if like me you have ever been fooled by buying sweet peppers and at the time of using them to see that there was as who would say a problem. I remember once I chose peppers that I thought were sweet to prepare a chili con carne. The moment I split them in half and washed them I started to get burning my hands. I threw everything away and put nothing in my chili but my hands burned for 48 hours. Luckily I didn’t rub my eyes.


There is a way to find your way between the different chilies. The Scoville Scale

is a scale for measuring the strength of chilies invented in 1912 by pharmacologist Wilbur Scoville during his work at the Parke Davis Company in Detroit, USA. Its purpose is to provide information on the content of capsaicin, the molecule responsible for the strength of chilli peppers.
