Apple and Maple Syrup Cake

I had some maple syrup the other day, after making the recipe unemployed pudding. So I fiddled with this concoction from an old Tupperware recipe.  The cake cake is delicately flavored, melting and delicious.

  • 50 ml of semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 180°C (gas mark 6), fan oven.

Butter the pan and lightly flour it. Tap to remove excess flour.

Melt butter. Whisk eggs and sugar until mixture turns white. Add the melted butter and mix. Then add the flour, baking powder, pinch of salt, milk and maple syrup. Stir to obtain a homogeneous preparation.

Peel the apples. Remove the core and dice them and add to the mixture.  Mix coarsely and pour into the buttered and floured pan.

Bake for 40 minutes at 180°C then add 10 minutes, but this time at 160°C (if you see that the top of the cake is browning too much). So it’s 50 minutes in all, but as usual, adjust according to your oven.

Let cool for 5 minutes before unmolding.
